Resolute is a carefully curated blend, made up of Mistura de Sítios and Los Bracamoros:
Mistura de Sítios
This is a project our Head of Coffee Stephen initiated in 2024 in collaboration with our exporter partner in Brazil, SMC. It is a community lot made up of coffee from 6 different Brazilian small producers. Brazilian coffee exports are often dominated by large-scale producers, with farms of 100 – 2000 hectares and more known as “Fazendas”. Compared to the rest of the coffee producing world, these producers are often relatively wealthy with significant access to resources, processing equipment and other sources of income, which allow them to monopolise the market. For this project we wanted to ensure we were purchasing from producers who don’t have these advantages – who own small farms or “Sítios”. This lot comes from Haroldo Vilela de Carvalho of Sítio Morro Alto (45ha), Ronaldo Reis Madeira of Sítio Mandioca (24ha), Luis & Carliane Fernando of Sítio Penha (18ha), Marcus José Vedovotto & family of Sítio São José (12ha), Edivair & Luciane de Carvalho of Sitio Maranhão (3ha).
Los Bracamoros
Los Bracamoros is sourced from the provinces of Jaen and San Ignacio in Cajamarca, Peru. Grown by small-scale farmers, each lot is home-processed, with the cherries picked, processed, and dried by individual producers before being delivered to the Chacra Coffee warehouse in Jaen for blending. The producers in this region typically cultivate a mix of Catimor, Caturra, and Bourbon varieties, with some older farms still preserving Typica plants.
The average farm size is around 2 hectares, and most farmers avoid herbicides, preferring to manually weed their crops. This is partly due to the integration of coffee with other vegetable crops for personal consumption. Coffee cherries are processed through fermentation, with some producers using raised beds and parabolic dryers to improve quality. Once dried, the beans are carefully blended to create a well-rounded, flavourful cup that reflects the traditional and sustainable practices of this unique region.

Absolutely my new go-to bean
I'll admit that it's partly due to convenience and cost but it's a solid bean that's working really well in a cafetiere or as an espresso. I like a sweet-ish medium roast and this nails it.
