Two washing stations in Rwanda with incredible backstories. We purchase our Rwandan Feature coffees from microlots from these stations individually, but we have combined the smaller screen 13/14 beans from both washing stations to produce this lot for our Pathfinder espresso.

  • Pathfinder celebrates the roads less travelled. Sweet, vibrant, and fruitful—it’s a coffee that has, since conception, bound the unique terroir of each component, bringing them together to create a cup bursting with character. Sourced seasonally, the origin will change 3-4 times a year, rotating to support our Direct Trade relationships and ensure the highest quality, freshest crop.

This coffee comes from two incredible washing stations in Rwanda; Maraba and Buntembo.

Founded in 2012 in Nyaruguru, Rwanda, Maraba Washing Station is a family-owned business serving over 3,000 smallholder farmers.

They offer training and support for successful coffee production alongside their commitment to environmental stewardship and community development through initiatives like water recycling systems and health insurance for farmers. The unique essence of the Butembo Coffee Washing Station lies not only in its remarkable evolution since inception, but the outstanding quality of coffee they produce. Established by the Bosco family following the 1994 genocide, humble resources have evolved year-on-year with impressive success, always with sustainability and community empowerment as guiding pillars of their growth. Located in a region known for its high altitude and volcanic soil, they have ideal conditions for cultivating exceptional coffee.
