Winds of Change: Textile Artworks
Amy Brock-Morgan
Amy Brock-Morgan is a textile artist and repair specialist who transmutes remnant and waste materials into beautiful, handcrafted tapestries. Working by machine and by hand with slow and dedicated intention, Amy breathes new life into fabric which would otherwise end up in landfill. Her works explore how we can reconsider what we view as ‘waste’, and inspire a more circular way of living, one that values what already exists around us.

For the Earth
Amy's tapestries demonstrate a clear and considered engagement with the natural world. Drawing heavily on the Cornish landscape that she calls home, the works reflect the organic forms and textures of its coastline; from the colours and shapes of flora to the geological formations of cliffs and coves. It is Amy’s intention to connect the audience to these intricacies of the earth and open discussions of broader conversations around production, over supply, and ultimately, respect for our environment.
Repair, Reimagine
Complementary to Amy’s artistic practice, she is Head of the Lived & Loved Repairs team at Finisterre, is a guest university lecturer and hosts community workshops focussed on the art of repair. By promoting clothing care, repair, and longevity she aims to inspire a shift in mindset, fostering a community that values and celebrates the repair of beloved garments over the need for new.
