  • Jean Bosco's family has a long history of coffee farming in Rwanda. Despite initial challenges like manual milling and low-quality production, Jean’s brother took the initiative to build a coffee washing station after the 1994 genocide. Today, the family's coffee story has evolved into something truly inspiring - the ownership of a coffee washing station that processes high-quality, fully washed coffees.

Beginning with humble resources, just five drying tables, one fermentation tank, and an ineffective grading channel, it was through hard work and strategic investments that enabled the family to expand and grow. The station prioritises sustainability and community empowerment, collaborating with farmers to create organic compost and distribute essential tools. Being located in a region known for its high-altitude and volcanic soil, this region boasts ideal conditions for cultivating coffee.

Butembo Coffee Washing Station's unique essence lies not only in its remarkable evolution but also in the exceptional coffees it produces. Bosco's future vision includes expanding the station and establishing a significant coffee farm to further contribute to its success.
