Origin

A powerhouse amongst Brazilian coffee professionals, Carmen Lúcia is a phenomenally dedicated producer, key veteran of the Brazil Speciality Coffee Association, having previously served as its president, and was recognised by Forbes as one of the Top 20 Women in Agribusiness in 2021. We’re incredibly proud to be showcasing her work during our Women in Coffee month by recognising such an exceptional woman and coffee.

Origin

The world’s largest coffee producer, Brazil has huge influence in the global coffee market. Although producing more than a third of the world’s coffee, the growing conditions here can be challenging; producers not only have to manage the lower-than-optimal altitudes and non-volcanic soils, but also extreme climate conditions, from drought, to frost. Typically low in acidity, sweet, and heavy-bodied, Brazillian coffee is often easily distinguished and well-loved thanks to its approachable, desirable notes of chocolate and nuts.
