  • This exceptional coffee originates from the Buku kebele, a village nestled in the Guji zone of Ethiopia, renowned for its high-altitude coffee production. Smallholder farmers in the region cultivate locally selected varieties, including 74110, 74112, and 74158, developed by the Jimma Agricultural Research Center in the 1970s.

The coffee is meticulously processed at the Buku washing station, operated by Esayas Bareso. The station is situated at an impressive 2350 meters above sea level, making it one of the highest coffee-producing regions we've encountered.

Cherries are carefully harvested by hand and transported to the processing station, where they undergo a thorough hand-sorting process. The sorted cherries are then laid out on raised beds for drying, ensuring even exposure to the sun and frequent turning to achieve optimal humidity. Finally, the coffee undergoes another round of hand-sorting to remove imperfections before export.
