This lot comes from the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and People’s Region in Ethiopia, which is a state that borders Kenya and South Sudan. Coffee in Ethiopia is often sold in grades that signify a flavour profile, each grade relates to a different flavour profile, this coffee is a Kochere grade. Kochere means that this coffee is floral and apple like, complex but not too delicate as its round body gives it added weight. The Worka-Wuri is the perfect Kochere.
Ethiopian coffee is amongst the best in the world displaying incredible complexity with such rare and hard to achieve flavours. It is an example on how there are so many ways to approach creating coffee, not one way is right. Some regions use a micro lot approach, this is where small groups of trees are harvested to make the coffee but here the opposite is in practice. Hundreds of producers working closely, creating their own little harvest and coming together to make something special.
